Getting Started with Ace: Onboarding Guide

Everything you need to set up your Meta Quest headset, install the Ace app, and get started with your first virtual shooting session.

Welcome to Ace! This guide walks you through everything you need to get set up: preparing your Meta Quest headset, installing the Ace app, configuring your handset, and taking your first steps into virtual shooting.

Step 1: Set Up Your Meta Quest Headset

Before jumping into Ace, make sure your Meta Quest headset is configured correctly. The resources below cover fitting the headset comfortably, using the controllers, setting your Guardian boundary, and turning off hand tracking so it doesn't interfere with your handset.

  • General Quest headset setup — headset fit, controller basics, and Guardian boundary setup.

  • Disabling hand tracking for a smoother, more reliable shooting experience.

Step 2: Download the Ace App and Set Up Your Handset

Once your headset is ready, it's time to install Ace and get your handset prepared for shooting.

Download and Log In

Search for "Ace" in the Meta App Store and download it from App Lab, then find it in your app library. Open the app, enter the email address associated with your Ace account, and continue — you'll receive an email containing a login link. Click that link, then return to your headset and you'll be ready to shoot.

Set Up Your Ace Handset

Fit your right Meta Quest 2 or 3 controller into the bottom of your Ace Arctus handset cup, then pull the rear orange hook back until it locks the controller securely in place.

Learn the Basics

After finishing the in-app tutorial, spend some time getting comfortable with Ace: navigate the menu, practice the core controls, run through a few drills, and check out how to purchase and swap optics on your virtual guns.

Adjust Your Trigger Sensitivity

Fine-tune your handset's trigger settings within the app to avoid common issues like sporadic firing, failure to fire, or double and automatic firing.

Step 3: Explore the Ace VR Essentials

Once you're comfortable with the basics, these features will help you get even more out of every session in Ace.
